A brief review of publications that cover the subject area of the study confirms the relevance of finding new approaches to improving the adaptation process of international students and provides an opportunity to analyze the best practices of universities in this field of activity. The theoretical analysis and interpretation of the basic concepts of the study provided the identification of empirical indicators and the development of questionnaire survey tools. The empirical part presents the results of a survey of international students enrolled in higher education programs at Russian universities—476 people who took part in the online survey.
