Pseudo Four-Component Cyclocondensation of N-Alkylpiperidin-4-ones, Malononitrile, and Acetone

New 8-amino-10-methyl-3-azaspiro[5.5]undeca-8,10-dien-7,7,9-tricarbonitriles were synthesized in 72 and 67% yields by condensation of N-benzyl- or N-ethyl-4-piperidone with malononitrile and acetone in ethanol in the presence of morpholine.
