The research materials are based on archival and literary sources of the time. Analysis and synthesis of the information obtained using the historical-systemic, historical-comparative methods made it possible to clarify the interest of foreigners in this poorly inhabited region of Russia, to reveal the trail of the most prominent doctors and scientists in the Caucasus.
