Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The review analyzes modern literature data on the role of antimicrobial peptides (AMP) in the human body, their structure and interaction with microbial agents. Being multifunctional molecules of immune defense, they have not only a direct antimicrobial effect, but also are key components of congenital immunity. The article reviews vitamin D immunotropic action, in particular, its ability to induce the synthesis of defensins and cathelicidin. It provides data onthe relationship between low supply of vitamin D and the risk of infectious, autoimmune, allergic diseases. It proves the positive effect of cholecalciferol preparations on AMP level in sepsis, pelvic organs inflammatory diseases and urinary system infections
